I'm Ellen O'Brien, a photojournalist and digital producer with degrees in journalism, philosophy, and Arabic studies. I'm passionate about political storytelling through photography and new media.

I've reported on issues ranging from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Syrian refugee crisis to healthcare regulation and water rights. At the Middle East Institute, I worked with the communications team to produce videos, podcasts, and articles that accurately inform audiences about current events in the Middle East. At Cronkite News, I work closely with reporters to inform audience about local issues ranging from gun violence to homelessness.

With experience in photography, videography, reporting and copyediting, I can ensure that all elements of a news story are engaging and informative. On weekends, you can find me and my camera at the nearest cultural event or protest. Check out my portfolio for examples of my work, and check out stories for long form photo essays.
